Course Purpose
This course is designed and developed to create awareness, skills and knowledge in fostering adequate professional management of digital records management pertaining to institutional repositories in organization. It covers fundamental concepts and knowledge based on institutional repository management intended to build required competencies in students and prepare them to be effective information management specialists.
Expected Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course the student should be able to:
i. Explain the concept of institutional repositories,
ii. Describe Open Access
iii. Discuss Open Archives Initiative methods and strategies.
iv. Explain the benefits of IR strategies and methods.
v. Apply various IR software in development and management of institutional repositories.
vi. Identify various challenges encountered during management of IR
